I had the opportunity of interning with Eskimo PR, a niche PR agency with some amazing brands to match! During this time I was able to attend the AW12 Press day at The Vinyl Factory. Press days are pretty self explanatory. It gives a chance for all the brands to showcase their new collection for the upcoming season.

WTH?! Hairy Toe Louboutins?

After a long day shooting the New Look SS12 Lookbook (Amazing day!!) I stumbled onto some pictures of Gossip Girl's Blake Lively on set. everything seems normal here:

relaxed boufant ponytail. check
brown leather trousers. check +bang on trend.
cute knit cardigan. check
tan coloured louboutins. check

but as I looked closer, I noticed that what I thought were just classic louboutins were, in fact, tan and FURRY WITH ANIMAL PAW TOES AND BLACK TOENAIL!!

  But funnily enough, she isn't the only one sporting this. Certified Fashion queen and Christian Louboutin enthusiast Sarah Jessica Parker wore the 'paw shoes' which are currently in the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection at the Moscow premiere of 'I Don't Know How She Does It' clearling channeling the Little Red Riding Hood vibe.....

Animal Print Roars through the High Street

As an animal print fiend, I'm sooooooo exited to see prints, particularly Leopard print taking centre stage on the high street!! As a new PR intern at New Look Head office I got a chance to have a sneak peak of the showroom. Cue pupil dilation and me dribbling in excitement of all the stunning accessories and footwear.

Mr & Mrs Runway 2011: The Search Continues!

Mr and Mrs Runway 2011: Fashion, Creativity, Culture

I was recently approached by one of my 'tweeties' (@DJBlue_UK), who told me about Mr and Mrs Runway, which is a live modelling competition. It received a great reception last year including a BEEFTA Award nomination, so I was excited that it was making a much anticipated comeback in 2011!!

The competition consists of 4 auditions and an online vote, only 15 girls and 15 guys will make it through to the Quarter-Finals (Live Show). The competition takes place over the course of 3 weeks and at the end of each week an intense elimination process will take place and a number of male and female contestants will be voted off (by judges & audience) , while the remaining contestants stay on another week to battle for the crown!!

The decision criteria goes beyond just how well you can walk and pose. Professionalism during training sessions and the competition are considered as well as how your personality radiates throughout. Creativity is one of the definitive features of Mr and Mrs Runway which makes it stand out from other modelling competitions.

The prizes include lucrative modelling contracts, a holiday abroad, a spread in a top magazine as well as opportunities to be involved in major fashion shows, this is a huge opportunity for any up and coming hopefuls looking to make their first footprint into the modelling world!

The show will be spread across three creatively themed weeks, filled with hardcore choreography and a range of theatrical concepts. There will be live performances from a variety of artists, bands and dance groups strategically fitted to compliment each themed week. Mr and Mrs Runway is defintely one NOT to miss!

If like me you want to watch this exciting show unravel, Bush Hall in Shepherd Bush will host the Quarter and Semi-Finals on 7th and 14th August, while the Grand Final will be held in the newly refurbished Camden Centre on 21st August.

In addition, Streamline Empire is working in association with youth organisation 'Options 4 Change', which aims to build awareness of available opportunities to excel as well as provide a platform for young people to develop their talents and interests away from the streets. A percentage of the proceeds from this competition will be donated to Options 4 Change, to help them achieve this goal and better the community.

Christopher Kane does NEON LACE!

Every season Christopher Kane reveals a stunning collection which seems to nail what women want to wear before they even want to wear it. Spring/Summer collection served up neon lace. A show-stopping mixture of pink, yellows and greens are the key colour.

Kane, himself said 'I love neon. It's so man-made and obnoxious but that's why I gravitate towards it.' quoting 'Princess Margaret on Crack' as his inspiration.

As a lover of all things bright and bold I think this collection is one to watch...

Queen B is back......

After a brief time-out enjoying married life and what not, the queen that is Beyonce Knowles is Back! Usually her return comes with pizazz and excitement, however, her latest 'creation' is more of a crackle than all-out firework display. The track Girls (Who Run The World) samples Major Lazer's smash hit Pon De Floor, but it just doesnt seem to mesh well!

I'm sure my opinion will change once I see a video or hear it in the clubs but for now I am very disappointed!

Fashion: Vogue Italia

Ever since Vogue Italia's all-black issue a while back, it's refreshing to see an influx of models from ethnic backgrounds. And what's more exciting is that Vogue Italia have decided to feature an all-black editorial called Blackallure featuring some of the most prominent black models about. *Cue cheers* Combining some of this season's lush retro looks from the likes of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Lanvin.


  Chanel Iman, Melodie Monrose, Jourdan Dunn as well a host of stunning models are featured in this sleek editorial!

Japan Earthquake+Tsunami...my thoughts

At roughly 5.46am (GMT) An earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale rocked Japan's north-eastern coast today (biggest earthquake in 140 years), unleashing a 13ft (4m) tsunami which swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland.

It was brought to my attention as I hazily checked my blackberry for twitter updates, wiping the sleep from my eyes, I promptly switched my TV onto BBC news. I was shocked and shaken by the magnitude of the disaster. I was presented with images of a large ship and cars being swept away by the tsunami and ramming directly into breakwater and bridges, solid buildings and infrastructures, once solid were now shaking like jelly and crumbling like a game of jenga. I can't even begin to think about the devastation in the smaller cities and villages. The world is on tsunami alert, with water levels higher than some pacific islands

With all these natural disasters happening so close together, in addition to worldwide political unrest, war and famine, I'm finding it very hard ignore the association with God and what's written in the book of revelations. Believe what you want to believe, but you can't deny something major is happening in the world that goes beyond a simple coincidence. Looking at my timeline on Twitter everyone has something to say about it; some are sending well wishes and prayers, some are stating its the end times, some are heartless enough to make jokes (to those that do, remember karma)  all in all the majority of tweets note that we should be thankful for the lives we have.

 Now I ask, why is it that we need natural disasters, other peoples anguish and misfortune to realise that the things that we complain about are minute and we are actually blessed?? Hardly seems altruistic! And then to add insult to injury, as soon as the media hype has died down we'll forget.

So I urge you, to take time out everyday to reflect and focus on the positive aspects of your life. Pray if you're religious, Take opportunities, try something new and don't hold hate in your heart, because if we are going to learn anything from these events, we have to remember that our lives fly by and can end as quickly as a candle is blown out....

Blondes Have more fun...Right Chris Brown?

Wowza! So much for keeping up with my years resolution...I blame the overbearing demands of my psychology uni work.

I came on here to simply express my appreciation for Chris Brown's new blonde barnet! upon hearing it I thought it would look ridiculous. I'm not sure whether its the lighting or the angle (since these can make or break a picture) but it looks pretty hot!!

Moreover, it seems fitting considering he's been going through a transformation, leaving all the negative press behind him, singing, rapping his heart out, gaining back the reputation he once had
The picture has had mixed reviews since its debut on twitter, but I for 1 am a FAN!

New Beginnings

One of my new years resolutions of this supposedly great year was to become more proactive in what I want to do in terms of career choice. Soooooo after much too-ing and frowing I have decided to do a blog. In reality my brain goes at about 180 mph so hopefully this will be a space where I can colour the blank page with my somewhat colourful ramblings (as the title suggests).

Hopefully it will be a culmination of daily anecdotes, music and interesting things I've come across in the media since we all like a cheeky gossip. 

Who knows, I may even post a video of me singing or playing the piano, which fills me with anxiety but I guess I got to bite bullet...Right???

So yeah, Welcome. Bienvenue. to my world
